The Rev. Debra Low-Skinner named Pastoral Associate in Saratoga, CA



January 20, 2013 --  The Rev. Debra Low-Skinner, who formerly served in the Diocese of Long Island, has been named permanent Pastoral Associate of Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church in Saratoga, CA.

St. Andrew's is a very large parish with 2,000 members and an average Sunday attendance of 450.  The rector, the Rev. Channing Smith, and Mother Debra are the only paid clergy on staff. 

St. Andrew's also has a parish day school with an enrollment of 330 students, ranging from kindergarten to grade 8.

Between 1983 and 1992, Mother Debra, a layperson at the time and a member of St. Andrew's, was sponsored for ordination by that parish.

When she became engaged to Don Skinner she transferred membership to his parish, St. Luke's in Los Gatos, CA, and completed her ordination process there.
